The Studara Promise

How we treat
your money.

Most study apps make money by being hard to leave. We made these six promises because we want to make money by being hard to leave for the other reason — because Ara actually helps you.

We will never auto-charge you without warning.

Two days before your trial ends, you'll see a clear in-app modal: 'Your trial ends in 48 hours. Tap Continue to subscribe — or tap Stay free.' No surprise charges. No buried billing dates.

Cancel takes two taps. Always.

Settings → Cancel → Confirm. That's it. No retention dark patterns, no four-step exit interviews, no 'are you sure?' followed by 'are you really sure?'. If you want to leave, we make it easy.

Your data lives in EU/UK regions. Always encrypted. Never sold.

Your photos, voice, notes, and progress are encrypted on your device and at rest. We never sell your data, never feed it to third-party training models, and never share it with advertisers. Schools and parents only see what you explicitly choose to share.

Refunds within 7 days of any charge. One tap.

If you forgot to cancel, or you signed up by accident, or it just isn't working out — message us within 7 days of a charge and we refund it. No friction, no questionnaire, no guilt trip.

No more than one upsell per session.

Pro features are flagged where they live. We do not interrupt your study with paywall pop-ups, sale-ending-soon banners, or 'limited time' countdowns. You'll never see the same upsell twice in one sitting.

We will never email you junk.

We send four kinds of emails: account stuff, weekly progress, exam reminders you asked for, and the occasional product update. No newsletters, no "deals," no growth hacks. Unsubscribe in one click — and we'll respect it.

What other study apps do

Not naming names. You've probably been on the receiving end.

  • Auto-renew silently after a 7-day trial with no warning
  • Hide the cancel button behind 5 screens and an email request
  • Send daily upsell modals while you're trying to study
  • Ignore cancellation emails and keep charging
  • Sell or share student data with advertisers
  • Use dark patterns to make you forget you're paying
Studara does none of the above. By design, in writing, on this page.

One promise we won't make.

We won't promise we'll never make a mistake. We will. When we do, we'll tell you on this page, and we'll fix it.
